Behavioral finance biases are fundamentally assessments or opinions that open or close possibilities. In our work with #UHNW families, a fundamental driver of family discord stems from the belief that individual assessments are true, no matter what. Left unaddressed deeply rooted assessments increase dissonance in relationships driving families apart and putting assets at risk. We teach our clients to become observers of how their points of view are opening or closing possibilities, especially those that are emotionally charged. #Learning to ground assessments and #listening for understanding leads to #alignment in points of view and clarity in #decisionmaking.
